Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Job Overview:

Client is seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join their IT team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills and a strong technical background in supporting IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing end-user computing environments, with a focus on Windows and Linux systems, Active Directory, and Powershell scripting.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service Excellence:

Provide outstanding customer service by promptly addressing and resolving technical issues reported by end-users.

Communicate technical solutions in a user-friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.

Desktop Support:

Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.

Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on Windows and Linux platforms.

Operating Systems:

Expertise in administering and supporting Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows 7) and Linux distributions.

Ensure seamless integration and compatibility between different operating systems.

Active Directory Management:

Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Active Directory.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Active Directory authentication and access.

Powershell Scripting:

Develop and maintain Powershell scripts for automation and system administration tasks.

Implement scripting solutions to streamline repetitive processes and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.

Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration.

Hands-on experience with Powershell scripting.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Desktop and Server, or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
