The Senior Data Center Engineer is tasked with efficiently managing data center hardware, software, and associated systems. Responsibilities include researching and implementing processes to enhance data center performance and reliability while ensuring adherence to organizational standards. The role involves providing technical support for projects and addressing system issues, along with architecting and administering various environments such as Windows servers, Nimble Storage, VMware, networking, wireless, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and adhere to technical standards for data center configuration.

Document technical configurations for data centers and cloud architecture.

Install and configure servers and applications to support data center and infrastructure strategies.

Monitor and test backup/recovery systems regularly.

Proactively monitor data center status and address any issues.

Perform necessary system upgrades and patches.

Manage vendor engagements for license renewals and hardware/software procurement.

Assist system administrators in resolving end-user and system issues.

Ensure implementation and maintenance of security standards.

Set up and maintain internal and external networks.

Troubleshoot data center and network performance problems.

Conduct annual disaster recovery plan exercises.

Be available 24/7 for emergencies.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, stoop, push, and pull equipment regularly.

Ability to perform continuous physical tasks such as walking, kneeling, crawling, etc.

Ability to lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds and frequently lift objects up to 45 pounds.

Qualifications:

5 to 7 years of experience in a technically diverse environment.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred, or equivalent experience and certifications.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows server environments, including Active Directory management.

Proficiency in VMware, Windows Server Failover Cluster, LAN/WAN principles, and BGP routing.

Experience with firewalls, storage systems, and backup solutions preferred.

Security certification or PCI experience is advantageous.
