Material Handler

Job Description

Volt is seeking a skilled and dependable Material Handler candidate to join our dynamic team in Fresno, California. Our company is dedicated to providing top-quality services and we value individuals who are committed to excellence and teamwork.

This position is responsible for handling, moving, packing, and storing materials within warehouse, yard, and production areas. Pulling material and/or supplies from inventory or production cells to deliver to areas as needed. Additionally, the position will be responsible for general warehouse upkeep and inspecting forklift daily.

Job Duties:

Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.

Operates trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items using levers and controls.

Conduct daily inspections of forklift and communicate findings to supervisor.

Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank.

Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transportation vehicles.

Fasten attachments to forklift using pins to tow or move materials.

Identify material is the correct item, quantity, and quality against warehouse paperwork.

Correctly label material with part number, work order number, or job name as needed.

Coordinate with Warehouse or Production employees in pulling material to be picked and staged.

Routinely move materials between designated stocking locations, Receiving, staging areas, and production lines as needed.

Requirements:

Must be able to work well in a team.

Ability to read, write, and follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance.

Ability to perform basic math calculations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Ability to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50lbs.

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials.

Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software.

Ability to analyze information, evaluate results to choose the best decision, and solve problems.

Ability to establish and maintain rapport with diverse population.

Customer service and detail oriented.

Dependability in attendance and work ethic.

Schedule: Full-time 10 Hour Shifts; Monday – Thursday from 5:00am – 3:30pm. This position may be required to work overtime including weekends and evenings as needed.

Pay: $17-$20

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
