Job Description

As a Maintenance Assistant, you'll work closely with our Maintenance Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our building and equipment, aligning with our organizational goals and objectives. Your responsibilities will include both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, all conducted within SQF, FDA, FSMA, and GFSI guidelines to uphold our high standards of food safety.

Essential Functions:

Conduct daily inspections of plant operating systems to identify and address any issues promptly.

Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

Provide backup support for the Wastewater Operator position to maintain uninterrupted operations.

Handle minor electrical and plumbing repairs and upgrades to keep our facilities in top condition.

Manage snow removal and salting of sidewalks to ensure safe access for our team.

Utilize light carpentry skills to address structural maintenance needs.

Replace light bulbs and filters as necessary to maintain proper lighting and air quality.

Perform scraping, puttying, and painting of walls, woodwork, and fixtures to maintain a clean and professional environment.

Assist other departments as needed to support overall organizational objectives.

Maintain flexibility with shifts and be willing to work occasional overtime to meet operational demands.

Take on additional duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the team.

Skills & Abilities:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Preferably two years of previous building maintenance experience.
