Job Description

In this senior role, you'll collaborate closely with the design team and decision-makers to craft high-fidelity, interactive, and visually compelling prototypes. Your role extends beyond design, as you'll be instrumental in maintaining and improving our design systems in Figma. Timely project delivery is imperative, and your passion for thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment will be paramount.

We're seeking a dynamic individual with vibrant and positive energy. Proficiency in UI design is essential, and a solid grasp of UX principles is crucial, although the role leans towards a UI focus. Experience in utilising design systems is a must, and we're particularly interested in how you maintain cleanliness and organisation in your Figma files. Outstanding communication skills are paramount; we value a professional, clear, and impressive communication style.

Job Qualifications:

Essential

5+ years of UI design experience.

Exceptional UI design skills, including interaction design

A strong, well-curated portfolio demonstrating your expertise across web, responsive and native app.

Strong experience in high-profile design projects in a customer-facing commercial environment.

A high level of proficiency with the latest versions of Figma.

A good knowledge of the latest design and prototyping tools and technologies.

Proficiency in designing with accessibility in mind and meeting WCAG 2.1 level AA.

A good understanding of the end-to-end iterative design process.

Passion for solving problems while balancing all facets of a user experience.

Experience collaborating closely with multiple disciplines, including product and engineering.

Self-motivation, and good organisational and time-management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present skills to all levels of seniority and subject area experts within the organisation.

The ability to coach, mentor and set standards for ways of working for more junior team members.

Proficiency with current industry design and collaboration tools such Miro etc.

Desirable

Previous experience in the retail sector is an advantage

Responsibilities

Support the Team in crafting the day-to-day delivery and forward-looking UI direction for Imperial NGP Digital’s products, ensuring it's in line with wider product and brand strategy and constantly breaking new ground.

Demonstrate a knowledge and desire to investigate, innovate and develop emerging design, UI and technology trends.

Be a leading force on the creation, evolution and maintenance of blu design systems over multiple platforms.

Work cross-functionally with UX to user test both flows and new UI designs. Analyse data and review designs appropriately

Work with partner groups both within and outside the Design team at product owner, and senior manager level.

Work collaboratively with internal, customer, and third-party stakeholders and decision-makers on the execution of design and experience.

Collaborate with design and development teams in order to create new experiences and evolve patterns.

Package the design deliverables for designs, style guides, and assets in a very organised manner

Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites and apps function and look.

Supports Head of Digital Design on the user experience in our digital product development with:

Demonstrate a knowledge and desire to investigate, innovate and develop emerging design, UI and technology trends.

Help to maintain an efficient design delivery process, through regular clear communication with delivery teams and consistently delivering to schedule

Conduct user and market research and identify patterns based on data trends, market, technology capabilities, and target audience demographics.

Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps.

Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders (low-fidelity wireframes).

Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
