Telecom Construction Labourer

Valo Networks is look for a Telecom Construction Labourer to join our team and play a crucial part in our commitment to providing fiber optics to rural and underserved communities. As a Telecom Construction Labourer, you will play an important role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

As our Telecom Construction Labourer, your daily responsibilities will include:

Organizing tools, equipment, and materials required for telecom projects

Utilizing a variety of hand tools to perform tasks such as vault installations, installing ground rods, conduit connections and couplers, hand digging, swamping for equipment, spotting for truck and trailers on site landscaping, set up & take down of traffic signs, installing appropriate materials to identify excavations and maintain safety,

Participating in placement of fiber optics accurately and efficiently

Safely moving and carrying construction materials and supplies, some of which may weigh in excess of 30 kg

Interpreting and following project plans, diagrams, and specifications

Working outdoors in various weather conditions and adapting to different elements

Maintaining safe distance and practices while working around mobile equipment

Maintaining open and effective communication with team members regarding project coordination and preparation

On your resume, we ask that you demonstrate the following:

Minimum 1 year experience in a telecom construction environment

Previous construction laborer experience, such as shallow utilities or pipeline is an asset

Basic understanding of telecommunications construction and or fiber to the home builds is an asset

Valid drivers license

Ability to provide a drivers abstract with minimal demerits
