Python Developer

Our client is seeking a Python Developer for a direct hire role with their data engineering team. This is a hybrid role, so you'll work from home 2 days and in their downtown Dallas office 3 days. They have an onsite parking garage which is covered by the company, or, if you prefer, the DART rail station is only 50 feet from the building.

Position Summary:

The Python Developer will be responsible for designing and developing data interface solutions that meet and exceed user’s requirements. Primary responsibilities will be working within the Data Warehouse team and writing APIs and ETL scripts to load data into Snowflake’s cloud data warehouse, and interface with other systems.

Essential Functions:

Able to assist in designing and implementing new applications and services that drive core business

Design, prototype, and develop Python services in AWS Lambdas.

Collaborate effectively across development, DevOps, and project management teams and business users

Work within and interface with Matillion for ETL, Salesforce, and AWS Lambda environments

Responsible for working with the latest technologies in a fast-paced environment and staying abreast on the latest technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Multiple Development Tool experience (e.g. Matillion for ETL, Visual Studio, Snowflake, Power BI, Git, etc.)

In-depth understanding of Python programming/objects

Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with fellow developers to solve complex tasks

Comfortable coordinating tasks with all levels of colleagues

Python, Snowflake, Microsoft SQL, and AWS databases.

Supports applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, and troubleshooting.

Experience utilizing AWS services such as S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, AppFlow,etc.

Proficient in Agile and Waterfall methodologies

Continuous Integration/Delivery experience

Qualifications:

Technical degree or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience

3+ years Python development

5+ years SQL Server or similar development

2+ years cloud experience (AWS S3, Lambda, SQS, etc.)

3+ years Snowflake experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Power Bi Report Development experience

Matillion for ETL

General Salesforce knowledge

3+ years financial programming experience or similar experience in a highly regulated environment such as HIPAA

5+ years Python development

4+ years cloud experience
