Our solutions delivery business works on many projects in collaboration with our customers. We design the solutions, procure the equipment needed, and provide the means for construction and commission. To continue our success in this area, we are currently looking for a Junior Project Controls Engineer with a business management background to join our global project delivery team.

About the role

As a Junior Project Controls Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the accurate capturing and forecasting of project costs, risk management, change management. As well as reporting and analysis of project operational performance for the projects in your assigned portfolio. Your portfolios can range between 20-30 projects.

You’ll do this by creating monthly cost forecasts for each project, where you’ll be continually managing spend against actual delivery.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Producing manpower plans, histograms, equipment and materials plans, data trends and other tools to produce an accurate cost estimate

Reporting for project and/or senior management using a variety of software tools (e.g. SAP, BW, Staff Scheduling and Utilisation Software)

Coordinating and facilitating change management on the project

Establish and document project-specific change management procedures and ensure project team understands and follows project-specific change management procedures

Reviewing internal and external reports with project managers, and finance departments

Facilitating reviews with project management to ensure an accurate cost estimate

Due to the nature of this role, you can also expect 25% of your time to be dedicated to travel. This is predominantly within the EMEA region but may also involve travel further afield.

Requirements

The global nature of our organisation means your success in this role will depend on your ability to bring various stakeholders on board such as project managers, engineers, supply chain and I&C companies. Therefore, your ability to adapt to change, build good relationships and show understanding is key.

We’re not looking for any specific experience or a degree. However, as a minimum, we would need you to have:

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft products, and Enterprise Resource Planning systems

English language skills at fluent or native level

Ability to analyse and interpret data

Ability to communicate with and manage various levels of stakeholders across a global context

Flexibility to travel where needed

Although not essential, it would also be useful if you have:

Project Management/Execution experience

A degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field
