Duties: Perform data mining to uncover deep insight hidden in Wayfair vast repository of raw data and provide tactical guidance on how to act on findings. Utilize quantitative/technical skills along with business understanding to devise solutions. Develop quantitative models, leveraging machine learning and advanced data analysis techniques. Architect and build technical platforms for Wayfair algorithmic engines to run at scale. Leverage work and encourage adoption across business partners to drive business value. Work within Wayfair’s big data technology infrastructure to dive deep into data sets and develop innovative new capabilities. Automate real-time experiments at scale and run complex statistical models to infer optimal process via Wayfair understanding of customer and competitor behavior.
The position is a fixed location based in Boston, MA office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.
One (1) year of experience in a highly quantitative role.
Experience must include one (1) year in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Working with business leads and synthesizing conclusions for non-experts to influence business decisions
- Programming languages including Python, R, Scala, Java, C++, C#, or PHP
- Machine learning
- Deep learning
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- General data analysis
Experience may be gained before, during, or after issuance of advanced degree.
Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
