Senior Applications Engineer - for prominent law firm in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for maintaining, updating, testing, and troubleshooting enterprise applications and reports to the Senior
Manager of Enterprise Systems. Candidate will coordinate to ensure the applications work efficiently.
Duties for this position include:
Design, development, implementation, maintenance and support of designated COTS (“Commercial Off the Shelf”) business-facing application systems
Managing impact of vendor updates on firm users with thorough testing and documentation
Ensuring technical documentation and deliverables are in accordance with Technology Services policies and procedures.
Develop/maintain productive working relationship with business owners and vendors.
Subject matter expertise, provide training and support to Technology Services training and support teams.
Assists with resolution of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities.
Make recommendations to Senior Manager, Enterprise Systems, and assist with the long-term applications roadmap
Leads cross-functional team projects to implement new or updated technology.
Bachelor’s degree, 5-7 years in a similar position required.
Implementation and support experience with enterprise applications including accounting systems, record systems, document management systems, expense systems, human resources systems or similar enterprise applications.
Expertise in implementation, operations and support for Windows based applications systems such as accounting systems, record systems, document management systems, expense systems, human resources systems or other similar enterprise applications
Ability to configure and troubleshoot Windows file servers, database servers, application servers and web servers.
Successful experience supporting a 24/7 production environment.
Working knowledge of server hardware, server storage and other infrastructure
Good judgment in identifying issues and recommending solutions to others.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Ability to work effectively and independently in atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure; must able to define problems and create solutions.
Ability to work effectively with both users and technical staff in team-oriented environments.
Ability to work with vendors in a managed services or SAAS environment to ensure that the firm’s requirements are taken into account
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
