SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent for our client in Grand Rapids, MI who is a diverse build and design construction company. We are seeking multiple enthusiastic and qualified candidates to join their local team. In this role you will manage projects serving markets such as health care, educational, multi-unit residential, industrial, retail, restaurant, commercial office, municipal and sports & recreation.


The Project Superintendent is responsible for promoting the organization’s core values while leading commercial construction projects, organizing and directing trade partners, suppliers and company employees to ensure projects are completed within the established goals for safety, timeliness, budget, and customer satisfaction.

Effective performance in this position requires experience to coordinate, direct and oversee the completion of projects in one or more of the following: mid-rise/high-rise multi-family, tight urban sites and hotel.

Sets up the job site and temporary office in accordance to company setup procedures.

Conducts project pre-start meeting with each subcontractor’s crew to reviewing their scope of work, review the project schedule, and to establish expectations for work and conduct.

Completes and updates weekly a look-ahead schedule, with detailed sequencing of work to happen within the next 2-4 weeks.

Manages and schedules the work being completed by trade partners, talking with the foreman to find out what the plan of work for the day, coordinating the work with other trades.

Monitors the safety environment (PPE and proper equipment use). Provides training as necessary.

Determines proper solutions to problems or issues. Communicates with the proper trades and back to Project Managers.

Communicates with architect, project manager, owners and subcontractors about RFI’s, materials and conflicts.


Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Three (3) to five (5) years of Construction Supervisor experience managing construction projects in the following markets: Industrial & Manufacturing, Healthcare & Institutional, Multi-family & Senior Living, National Multi-site Retail.

Must have valid driver’s license.

Heavy machinery operator cards are highly recommended.

Must have OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR training.
