Position: Sr. System Engineer

Location: Glendale CA

Duration: Full Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The System Engineer contractor will be a member of both the Global Operations & Administration team.

The goal of this position is to support the company's global business initiatives and clients by providing superior technology architecture and support services. Responsibilities will encompass a range of activities including, but not limited to, the following:

• General Systems Engineering; implementation, administration and troubleshooting

• Assist and work with others to troubleshoot production issues

• Liaison with application development teams

o Assist with implementations

• Maintain knowledge of current systems architecture, configuration, and operations

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Experience in implementing and all aspects of server backup technologies such as, Backup Exec, Ahsay, Data Protector, Azure Backup, Microsoft Azure Backup Server, and tape Libraries

o Maintain backup schedules for both physical servers and virtual servers

o Manage tape changes including managing the tape rotation for onsite and offsite tapes

o Ensure tape pickups and drop off from offsite storage provider are successful

• Manage and maintain Windows Security Updates for global servers

o Responsible for planning, implementing and reconciling Microsoft security related updates on all servers

o Deploy Updates with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and PowerShell scripting

o Provide support updates related issues

• Manage NTFS user file and folder permissions

o Implement changes according to procedures and policies

o Maintain user permissions using Active Directory groups

o Follow change management and approval process for changing user

• Active Directory advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills in a global, multiple domain, multiple site environment.

• Ability to analyze all aspects of an Active Directory migration including trust relationships and their associated security implications.

• Experience with information security and data privacy, including Safe Harbor data protection standards, is a huge plus.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services

• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012

• Understanding of Microsoft network infrastructure dependencies

• Systems hardening expertise is a plus

• Ability to work independently without extensive oversight

• Strong attention to detail

• Education: An undergraduate degree is preferred. Technical certifications are a plus.
