Construction Manager

Job Description

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position will be providing management and oversight to the construction program of the organization. The position would lead the construction department towards continued expansion of the ESVBA network and onboarding customers in an efficient manner. Managing the priorities and also coordinating resource allocation for the effective and efficient delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

· Overseeing coordination and selection of subcontractors who work on various projects.

· Reviewing the engineering, architectural and splicing drawings for ensuring that all standards and specifications are being followed.

· Responsible for gathering all the necessary licenses and permits.

· Tracking and controlling the construction schedules and the associated costs for achieving project completion within the budget and time allotted.

· Reporting to the senior management on the progress of a project and necessary modifications that has to be executed.

· Working with the ESVBA project management system to ensure jobs are tracked and progress communicated within the system.

· Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed and evaluated to minimize any risks to employees and contractors.

· Ensuring internal teams are mobilized on-time and are working to their fullest potential.

Job Knowledge Desired:

Working knowledge of underground, aerial fiber optic cable networks, as well as fiber splicing

Working knowledge of telecommunications plant records

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Wrike, Netsuite and mapping tools such as, OSP Insight, Visio, QGIS, AutoCAD, or MapInfo

Network design of FTTH, GPON and Active Ethernet

Job Experience Desired:

3 years and above of industry experience in data communication and telecommunication systems areas

1 year experience with telecommunications accounting procedures

Practical construction experience

Required:

3 – 5 years Supervisory experience

Good motor vehicle driving record

Excellent writing and oral communication skills

Ability to develop clear and thorough engineering and installation plans

Daily communication with internal staff and customers to communicate project statuses

Daily working vendors and contractors to accomplish work tasks

Strong ability to lead the construction team by setting expectations and rules and enforcing them

The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls

The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity

Education Desired:

2 year collage degree. AS in Electrical Engineering preferred

Military or technical training in associated discipline or equivalent experience
