Carpenter

West Coast Building Restoration Inc. is seeking an experienced Carpenter. It’s a full-time, permanent position – early morning, morning, day, evening, weekends and overtime are required. We offer 37.50 hours/week and $38.55/hour. Overtime as per the Employment Standards Act of British Columbia. 4% paid vacation. Our business address is 207 – 20120 Stewart Cres, Maple Ridge, BC, V2X 0T4, Canada. We offer extended health benefits medical/dental that get started 3 months after employment starts.

Work location: Various locations in Vancouver Mainland

As a Carpenter, you will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences;

• Measuring, cutting, and fastening materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials;

• Read and interpret blueprints;

• Preparing and building foundation systems, installation floor beans and joisting systems laying subflooring, erecting walls and roof systems, fitting and installing doors and windows;

• Using and maintaining power and hand tools common to the trade;

• Providing feedback and evaluation of progress and deficiencies within the scope of assigned work;

• Training constructions helpers and assessing their progress.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Carpenter;

• Must have valid driver’s license;

• Must have completed high school;

• Presentable, professional and with excellent work ethic;

• Position is physically demanding;

• Must be able to work under minimum supervision;

• Must be able to work at heights, in confined, noisy, and/or dusty spaces;

• Must be able to handle heavy loads;

• Must have excellent problem solving, decision making, job task planning and organizing skills;

• Must have own steel-toed boots and hard hat.
