Principal Software Consultant (0063-0006)

Develop, oversee, and perform source code reviews, patent portfolio analysis, and technology due diligence projects.

Assist clients in patent monetization and licensing, including patent mining, claim charts, and strategic guidance.

Serve as subject matter expert in litigation projects, including drafting expert witness reports and declarations.

Perform infringement, non-infringement, and validity analysis and prepare corresponding reports.

Identify client needs, develop tailored service delivery protocols, and build custom solutions.

Monitor client relationships for profitability and identify new project opportunities.

Ensure all deliverables are technically accurate and meet quality standards.

Publish articles and research reports to develop industry thought leadership.

Drive process innovation and enhance the organization's technical capabilities.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or similar, and 5 years of experience as a Sr Consultant, Consultant - Engineering Litigation Support, or comparable role in technical IP consulting and litigation support.

Proficiency in C++ and Java.

Experience with:

- Patent infringement and trade secrets litigation support, including 30GB+ source code review using Eclipse, Windows Grep, and Understand;

- Technical documentation review (1M+ pages);

- Preparation of infringement contentions, claim constructions, deposition documents, and expert witness report drafts;

- Target scouting and evidence mining for 100+ targets using Delphion, Thomson Innovation, IEEE, Google, and open source repositories;

- Patent portfolio analysis and licensing/monetization, including technical classification, infringement detectability, and market sizing;

- Technology due diligence in telecommunications (GSM, 2G/3G/4G LTE), software (ERP, CRM, e-commerce), and networking (encryption, authentication, authorization);

- Prior art searches and anticipatory and obviousness claim charts;

- Network packet capture analysis, product testing, debug analysis and software reverse engineering.

Travel Requirements

Approx. 2 trips per month for 3-5 days for client meetings or source code review within the US.

Telecommuting/Remote Work is Permitted

WFH/telecommuting allowed within the U.S. up to 4 days a week.
