Senior Engineer - Controls (0021-0004)

Support the development of Hyliion’s control systems and software. Develop and test new software for Hyliion’s Karno energy and powertrain solutions to deliver industry leading performance. Develop stationary power generation and powertrain control strategies. Develop requirements, interfaces, and supervisory control algorithms for torque path, thermal, high voltage controls, functional safety, and other functions. Ensure on time delivery with quality. Up to 20% domestic travel to various locations that cannot be anticipated.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in mechanical, electrical, computer, or systems engineering, computer science, or related engineering field; plus 24 months of experience in job offered or in a position involving automotive controls engineering.

Special Skills Requirements

Requires experience in: MATLAB/Simulink or C; Vehicle and powertrain control algorithm development and calibration; Hybrid/electric torque path, thermal, or HV architectures; Software testing environments (MiL, SiL, HiL, and vehicle); Controller Area Networks (CAN) and Vector tools; Classical and modern control disciplines; Major automotive or Class 8 systems; and ETAS and MDA.

Travel Requirements

Up to 20% domestic travel to various locations that cannot be anticipated.
