Meter Exception & Resolution Analyst

Location: Columbus, OH 43215

Pay rate: $31/hour on W-2

Job type: 2-month contract

Work arrangement: Hybrid; onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

Position Overview

The Meter Exception & Resolution Analyst investigates meter-reading issues, communication failures, and billing exceptions. This role analyzes data to identify root causes, coordinates resolutions across operational teams, and confirms accurate meter readings are available for billing.

The analyst also supports meter exchanges by resolving process or system issues and verifying that replacement meters are accurately reflected in operational systems.

Responsibilities

Investigate missed meter reads, communication failures, consecutive estimated bills, and other meter-related exceptions.

Analyze meter, AMI/AMR, billing, customer, and operational data to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate resolution activities with Meter Operations, Field Services, AMI Operations, Billing, Customer Operations, and other teams.

Track corrective actions, follow up with responsible groups, and help ensure issues are resolved on time.

Review team feedback and determine whether further investigation or additional work is needed.

Verify that corrected meter readings are complete, accurate, and available for billing.

Identify and resolve issues that prevent meter exchanges from being completed and recorded correctly.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree (AA or AS).

4–5 years of experience in a similar role.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause investigation.

Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills.

Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to coordinate work across multiple departments.

Strong organization, documentation, and follow-up skills.
