Production Manager – Thermoforming Operations

Nefab Irving, TX Full-time Manufacturing Reports to: Site Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Solid Solutions USA working with a client who is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the production operation at their Irving facility. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee all day-to-day manufacturing activity across every shift, directing department and shift leads, press operators, material handlers, maintenance, and tooling teams. You will build a results-driven culture centered on safety, quality, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Run daily manufacturing operations for a thermoformed plastic products facility, ensuring production schedules meet customer demand and delivery commitments

• Manage the full employee lifecycle: selection, training, evaluation, and discipline

• Track production and quality metrics, analyze data, and recommend improvements

• Partner with Purchasing, the Site Manager, and Quality to align material requirements, maintenance plans, and corrective actions

• Coordinate production materials, packaging, and waste handling

• Champion the plant safety program and maintain a clean, safe work environment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Plastics Engineering, Production Management, or another engineering discipline

• Hands-on experience in thermoforming operations and processing

• Proven people management experience, with the ability to build strong teams and work effectively at all levels of the organization

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving manufacturing issues and disruptions

• Quality Management System experience

• Ability to identify improvement opportunities, present solutions to senior management, and report on results and potential shortfalls

• Independent, deadline-driven, and skilled at prioritizing and planning work for others

• Intermediate proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email

• Fluent in English (written and verbal); Spanish bilingual a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Plant setting with noise levels above 90 dB and some dust; PPE is provided

• Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs

• Frequent local and international travel, including overnight, plus occasional evening or weekend work

• Fast-paced role with regular deadlines, interruptions, and high-impact decision-making
