Job Description
kad is seeking an experienced 6GR Pipe Welder to join its team. This role is responsible for performing high-quality welds on pressure vessels, piping, and nozzles in accordance with industry codes and standards. This is a long-term opportunity for a skilled welder looking for steady, consistent work with the potential for additional overtime.
Responsibilities
Perform 6GR welding on pressure vessels in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
Weld piping and nozzles to meet required specifications and codes
Perform back gouging as needed to ensure weld quality and integrity
Inspect welds and materials to confirm compliance with quality and safety standards
Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and site safety policies
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a 6GR welder
Demonstrated ability to perform 6GR welding on pressure vessels, piping, and nozzles
Working knowledge of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC)
Proficiency in back gouging techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds
Willingness to work extended shop hours and occasional weekend road jobs as needed
Schedule
Current schedule is 42.5 hours per week: 9-hour shifts Monday through Thursday and a 6.5-hour shift on Friday
Shop hours are expected to increase to 50 hours per week within approximately 6 to 8 weeks
Additional overtime may be available for candidates willing to work weekend road jobs
This is a long-term position
