Key Responsibilities
The selected Physical Therapist will play a significant role in the recovery and maintenance of our residents' physical health. Key responsibilities include:
Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities to create tailored treatment plans.
Designing and implementing individualized therapy regimens focused on strength, mobility, and functional independence.
Utilizing various therapeutic modalities including manual therapy, exercise instruction, and pain management techniques to address physical impairments.
Tracking and documenting patient progress meticulously, making timely adjustments to therapy protocols as required.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Providing education and training to residents and their families regarding home exercise protocols and self-management strategies for sustained physical health.
Adhering to all relevant state and federal regulations, ensuring the highest standards of professional practice are maintained. Patient Population / Client Focus
This position primarily focuses on rehabilitation for the geriatric population, many of whom may have complex medical histories and require ongoing care. The Physical Therapist will employ the latest evidence-based practices tailored specifically to the needs of elderly patients recovering from surgeries, falls, or chronic conditions, with a goal to foster greater independence and mobility.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
A current license as a Physical Therapist in the state of New York.
A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; higher degrees such as a Master's or Doctorate are preferred.
