Controller Columbus, Ohio Area $120,000-$140,000 + Bonus
A growing and financially stable organization in the Columbus, Ohio area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and support strategic business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys partnering with operations and senior leadership in a dynamic environment. Experience within the construction industry is highly preferred but not required.
Position Overview
The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. This individual will manage the month-end close process, develop internal controls, and provide financial insights that support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all day-to-day accounting and finance activities
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management functions
Prepare and analyze financial statements and key performance metrics
Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
Coordinate annual audit and tax-related activities
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
Partner with executive leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Mentor and develop accounting team members
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
Experience managing accounting staff and processes
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
Construction industry experience is a strong plus
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
