Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate CNC fiber optic laser cutting equipment to fabricate sheet metal components to spec
Set up and run jobs using laser control software, including loading programs, adjusting cut parameters, and monitoring cut quality
Read and interpret flat pattern files and DWG drawings; assist with importing/adjusting files for cutting (Fusion experience a plus)
Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting of software/hardware issues
Follow all machine safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and laser safety systems (light curtains, interlocks, PPE)nonconforming material downstream fabrication efficiency, and material yield equipment provided in accordance with company production standards and procedures, expectations, malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns.
Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality; flag and correct
Maintain accurate production records (job counts, material usage, downtime)
Support material handling: loading/unloading sheet stock, staging cut parts for
Collaborate with shop supervisors and engineering on job scheduling, nesting
Manufacture custom products using 14 production centers, hand tools, and other
Manufacture product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity
Conscientiously observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any
Clean and organized work area.
Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position.
Observes all company personnel, quality, and safety policies.
Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and leadership
teams.

Strong mechanical skills a real plus.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
BASIC SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Hands-on experience operating a CNC fiber laser cutter (any brand)
Working knowledge of laser cutting software (CypCut, LaserCAD, or similar
control/nesting software)
Abilityto read technical drawings and basic blueprints
Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with routine equipment troubleshooting
Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
Ability to apply common sense.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
During the summer ability to work in hot temperatures (around 90 degrees)
Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.
Ability to multitask and work quickly.
Must be a team player and be willing to work closely with other employees.
Must have good communication skills.
Good hand and eye coordination required.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Fusion 360 or similar CAD/CAM software (flat pattern generation,
DXF/DWG import)
Prior experience in architectural or commercial sheet metal fabrication
