Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 hours per week, night shift. Every other weekend required. Float required within the hospital system as needed.

Highlights:

Progressive Care Unit (Surgical Step-Down) specializing in post-surgical care including bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, surgical overflow, and general medicine

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3-4:1 with all attempts to keep ratio at 3:1

Epic EMR system experience required; telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills essential

24 hours of orientation provided to support transition to the unit

Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and radiology

First-time travelers welcome; minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down experience required

Requirements:

Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)

Minimum 1 year of progressive care, step-down, or telemetry experience

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Must pass facility telemetry competency test

Epic charting system experience required

Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)

Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Clinical Skills:

Telemetry monitoring (both unit-based and remote), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Central line and PICC line management, peripheral IV starts and maintenance

Blood product administration, heparin and IV insulin protocols, titration of insulin drips

PCA pump management, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management

Wound care including wound vac management, surgical drain care

Phlebotomy, isolation precautions/PPE, use of rapid response and code teams
