Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts per week. Weekdays and rotating weekends. Rotating holiday coverage. May be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity level.

Highlights:

30-bed Surgical Progressive Care Unit specializing in vascular and cardiac surgery patients

Lower acuity cardiac telemetry environment with 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios

Patient population includes CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, vascular stents/grafts, post-lung transplant, and various cardiac surgical procedures

Epic electronic medical record system in use

Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more

36 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)

Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required

Previous travel nursing experience required

Cardiac experience strongly preferred

BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIHSS certification required

Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring required

Epic charting system experience required

Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing

Clinical Skills:

Cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias

Management of arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and PICC lines

Blood product administration and heparin protocols

IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips

Cardiac drip management

BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) management

Pre/post cardiac surgery care and sheath removal

Tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and feeding tube management

PCA and epidural management

Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
