Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Every other or third weekend required. Floating within the hospital system as needed.

Highlights:

Specialized progressive care unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations

Diverse case mix including burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgical cases

Opportunity to perform specialized procedures including burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy

Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility

First-time travelers accepted (profiles subject to manager review for candidates with only one year of experience)

Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown nursing experience

Valid RN license (Compact license or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required

Epic charting system experience preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership position

Essential Skills:

Telemetry monitoring (unit-based and remote)

Central and peripheral line care and management

Blood product administration and heparin protocols

IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips

Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Wound care including surgical drains and wound vac management

Arterial line management and PICC line care

PCA pump management and substance withdrawal protocols
