Key Responsibilities
As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing detailed assessments, and interpreting results to develop tailored treatment plans.
Communicating evaluation findings and treatment plans effectively to patients and their families, involving them in the goal-setting process.
Implementing evidence-based treatment protocols, adjusting interventions based on patient needs and progress.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, recognizing and acting on changes in patient conditions as necessary.
Managing discharge planning in a way that ensures continuity of care and documenting all patient interactions comprehensively and effectively.
Maintaining productive and accurate schedules while actively participating in team meetings and community outreach initiatives.
Contributing to departmental goals and complying with all regulatory standards, ensuring a high-quality care environment.
Taking initiative in pursuing professional development, mentoring students, and fostering a culture of learning.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patient population primarily includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, those with sports-related injuries, and patients with chronic pain conditions. As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will have the opportunity to design and deliver individualized treatment programs that focus on enhancing mobility and restoring function, while using the latest evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers as recognized by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Experience
While prior work experience is not required, candidates with experience in outpatient orthopedic therapy settings will be given preference. Familiarity with electronic health records and clinical documentation is also advantageous.
