Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a growing manufacturing business in Columbus, Ohio. This position will lead core accounting functions, provide reliable financial insight for planning and decision-making, and help maintain efficient day-to-day processes across budgeting, payroll, and month-end reporting. The ideal candidate brings deep controller-level experience and a strong command of manufacturing finance, along with the ability to keep records accurate, organized, and actionable.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the company’s accounting activities, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and maintained in a timely manner.
• Manage monthly close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of internal financial statements.
• Develop and monitor budgets and forecasts to support operational planning and business performance.
• Oversee payroll administration using ADP and confirm employee compensation is processed correctly and on schedule.
• Maintain and improve financial reporting in QuickBooks and Excel to provide clear visibility into company results.
• Support manufacturing operations by tracking costs, analyzing financial trends, and identifying areas for improved efficiency.
• Organize, compile, and maintain financial and business documentation, including digital records and scanned files, for audit readiness and internal control.
• Partner with leadership to deliver financial analysis, recommendations, and reporting that support strategic decisions.• 10+ years of experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting leadership role.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of cost and operational finance.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, and month-end close management.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and ADP payroll systems.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate documentation and manage high volumes of financial records.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate financial performance clearly.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
