OverviewGovCIO is hiring an experienced skilled C# / ASP.NET Application Engineer to maintain and enhance a C# ASP.NET web application with a SQL Server backend, SSIS packages, Active Directory integration, and SQL Server Agent scheduled jobs.

This position is fully remote within the United States.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and improve ASP.NET (MVC/Web API/Web Forms) applications, ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end componentsSupport SQL Server databases: queries, indexing, performance tuningUpdate and deploy SSIS packagesManage SQL Server Agent jobs and troubleshoot failuresDesign, query, and manage relational databases (SQL Server), including writing efficient T-SQL, stored procedures.Configure and support AD authentication and IIS settings.Troubleshoot, diagnose and debug issues across the full application stack, from the UI down to the database and server layersCollaborate with cross-functional teams including database administrators, system administrators, and security teams to design new features and troubleshoot issuesMaintain documentation and follow secure coding practicesWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following .NET coding standards and object-oriented design principlesOptimize data models and database architectures to enhance performance and scalabilityParticipate in code reviews and contribute to overall code quality and adherence to .NET best practicesStay current with updates to the .NET framework and the broader Microsoft development ecosystem, recommending improvements where relevantQualificationsRequired Skills and ExperienceBachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering with 12+ years of experience or commensurate professional experienceStrong C# and ASP.NET experienceSolid T-SQL skills and SQL Server administration knowledgeHands-on SSIS development and troubleshootingExperience with Active Directory and Windows Authentication.
