MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - WEEKEND SHIFT
Columbus, OH (west side, Columbus metro) Full-time, direct hire
Schedule: Fri-Sun, 6:00a-6:30p $3.50/hr shift differential
First two weeks on day shift for orientation and plant familiarization (can be extended based on experience)
Pay: $24.09 - $40.48/hour depending on experience, plus $3.50/hr shift differential
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
A long-established manufacturer of structural building products (connectors, fasteners and anchors used in construction) is adding a Maintenance Technician to its weekend crew at its Columbus plant. This role keeps production running by maintaining and repairing plant equipment and infrastructure, including stamping presses, air compressors and production support equipment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Repair, install, troubleshoot, start up and maintain existing and new plant and facility equipment; integrate new equipment as needed (about 60%)
Handle general plant maintenance needs (about 25%)
Manage day-to-day work orders (WOs) and preventive maintenance (PMs) (about 10%)
Train and mentor other technicians and share best practices (about 5%)
Communicate technical issues to maintenance, facilities and operations management
WHAT YOU NEED
3+ years of maintenance technician experience and/or training
Mechanical: troubleshoot and repair equipment; read and interpret mechanical drawings
Electrical: size circuits (wire, disconnects, conduit) and perform new installations; read and interpret electrical schematics
Associate's degree or technical school preferred
Dependable attendance; follows instructions, policies and procedures; meets deadlines and schedules
Solid shop math: fractions, decimals, rates, ratios and percentages
Able to read safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and write routine reports
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Plant floor: exposure to heat/cold, loud noise, vibration and moving mechanical parts
Regularly stand, walk, twist and bend; lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lbs (heavier with equipment)
Full-time, non-exempt (hourly). Relocation not available.
