An E&I Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure safe and efficient operation in industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Configuration: Set up electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, VFD drives, motor controls, and HMI interfaces, according to industry standards and specifications .
Maintenance and Calibration: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, calibrate instruments, and maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and calibration activities .
Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose malfunctions in electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions .
Testing and Performance Evaluation: Conduct tests to evaluate system performance, reliability, and safety, ensuring compliance with operational standards .
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed maintenance logs, adhere to safety regulations, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and industry standards
Support for Projects and Shutdowns: Assist in minor and major plant shutdowns, installation of new systems, and ongoing improvement of mechanical integrity programs
Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; trade school, vocational training, or associate/bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Electronics is preferred.
Certifications: OSHA, NCCER, E&I, II, ISA, TWIC, NVQ, or other relevant licenses depending on industry requirements.
Experience: Proven experience with electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, VFDs, and motor controls .
