Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking qualified Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide nursing care and healthcare services within correctional facilities. The LPN will work under the direction of the facility's nursing leadership and provide patient care within the scope of practice.

Qualifications

- Minimum 12 continuous months of direct patient-care experience within the last 3 years.

- Current and valid California Vocational Nurse license.

- Current BLS certification from an American Heart Association

- Proficiency in English, including the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing and healthcare services in accordance with facility policies and procedures.

- Provide basic hygiene and nursing care and administer prescribed medications and treatments.

- Monitor patient status and report findings to the RN or Primary Care Provider.

- Provide patient education and accurately document care provided.

- Assist with therapeutic measures and treatments.

- Obtain specimens for diagnostic testing as ordered.

- Assist RNs and healthcare providers with clinic appointments and procedures.

- Support mental health professionals by monitoring and documenting patient behaviour.

- Assist patients with activities of daily living and routine treatments.

- Maintain and clean medical equipment.

- Maintain accurate patient health records and document responses to treatment.
