Attorney / Associate - Real Estate

Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a well established Am Law ranked national full service firm seeking a mid to senior level Real Estate Associate to join its Chicago office on a hybrid basis.

This real estate team advises sophisticated developers, investors, and institutions on complex commercial transactions and offers associates direct ownership of high value matters. You will work closely with hands on partners, enjoy meaningful client contact, and build a long term career on a respected national platform with strong training and support.

The Role

Lead and support commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, from initial structuring through closing

Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, and property management agreements

Handle sophisticated office, retail, and mixed use leasing for landlords and tenants

Collaborate on joint ventures, borrower side finance, and real estate fund matters where experience aligns

Work closely with partners while managing day to day deal responsibilities and client communications

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking a mid to senior level Real Estate Associate with:

At least 3 years of commercial real estate experience from a sophisticated law firm environment

Hands on experience with purchase and sale, development, property management agreements, and leasing

Active Illinois bar admission or ability to become admitted promptly

Strong academic credentials, ideally from a law school ranked up to approximately T50

Experience with joint ventures, borrower side finance, or real estate funds is preferred

Compensation & Benefits

$250,000 to $420,000 base salary, depending on experience

Performance based bonus opportunity

Billable expectation of 1,900 hours
