Department: Clinical Resource Department\n

Hours: 24.00 per week\n

Shift: Nights\n

Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts\n

Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend\n \n

Essential Duties & Responsibilities\n

\n

Under limited supervision:\n

Operational Duties\n \n

\n

Required to float to all 3 Emergency Departments\n

\n

May be reassigned to another site once during shift\n

\n

Required to take a full assignment\n

\n

Requires flexibility due to shift determination within 1 hour of shift start time\n \n

Roles and responsibilities\n

\n \n

\n

Identifies accurate nursing diagnosis/patient problems or needs from assessment data and individualizes plan of care to address unique patient needs \n

\n

Prioritizes plan of care based on needs\n

\n

Implements evidence based patient care in a safe and effective manner\n

\n

Anticipates and monitors needs, revises the plan of care based on ongoing evaluation of outcomes and frequent reassessment of patient needs.\n

\n

Communicates changes in plan of care and patient status to appropriate members of the health team\n

\n

Documents nursing process accurately, concisely and in a timely manner\n

\n

Demonstrates proficiency with the electronic medical record and knowledge of legal implications \n

\n

Collaborates with the patient, family, and the interprofessional team to establish outcomes of care\n

\n

Supervises, coordinates and delegates care appropriately based on patient/family assessment and the knowledge, skills and abilities of health care team members to whom care delegation is directed\n \n \n

\n

Preserve integrity and safety of patient care through maintaining competence and continuing personal and professional growth\n

\n

Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to promote the application of new knowledge and skill attainment\n

\n

Participates in orienting/precepting/mentoring members of the health team\n

\n

Participates in team/department based activities to improve outcomes such as committee work, research, case studies and/or unit based educational initiatives \n

\n

Identifies ethical concerns related to patient care or the practice environment and refers concerns in a timely manner to appropriate individuals, utilizing the chain of command when necessary\n \n \n

\n

Participates in identifying, analyzing and resolving issues related to quality, safety or risk \n \n \n

\n

Other job related duties as assigned\n \n

\n

Minimum Qualifications\n

\n

\n

Minimum Years of Experience: \n \n

\n

ED RN with at least two years ED experience \n \n

Minimum Education: \n \n

\n

Graduate of accredited Nursing school\n \n

Certification/Credentials:\n \n

\n

Current and unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut or the ability to obtain.\n

\n

Current ACLS & BLS\n \n

\n

Preferred Education and Experience: \n \n

\n

Triage experience or complete training during orientation \n \n

Preferred Education: \n \n

\n

BSN or ADN/ASN or actively enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of hire\n

\n

Professional certification in clinical specialty or obtain within 1 year of hire\n \n

Preferred Certification/Credentials:\n \n

\n

TNCC or complete within 18 months of hire \n

\n

ENPC or complete within 18 months of hire\n \n

· Compensation Range: $38.95 to $64.89\n
