Job Description
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a Licensed Practical Nurse supporting student health for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time position near Castle Rock, WA, is ideal for an LPN/LVN with experience in school settings and specialized knowledge of tracheostomy care. You'll provide dedicated onsite care each afternoon, initially for one hour daily (with potential for additional time as the student's endurance improves).
Key Qualifications:
Current Washington State LPN certification/license required
Expertise in pediatric care, with direct experience managing tracheostomies
Previous work in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred
Ability to respond swiftly and compassionately to medical needs in a dynamic school environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills for teamwork with students, families, and staff
Professionalism and meticulous attention to medical protocols
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver tracheostomy care and monitor the student’s respiratory status during attendance
Support the student’s health needs as outlined in their care plan
Collaborate with educational and health team members to ensure holistic support
Maintain detailed and accurate health records conforming to best practices and regulatory requirements
Adjust hours and responsibilities in alignment with the student’s stamina and evolving care needs
Respond to health emergencies and implement interventions in accordance with school protocols
