SUMMARY
We are looking for a smart, experienced, and motivated Digital Strategy Coordinator to join our Columbus, OH team.
The Digital Strategy Coordinator is responsible for the directed execution, research, and documentation that support the Digital Strategy team day-to-day.
This role does the defined, repeatable work behind the team's deliverables: building tags to specification, entering redirect maps and schema fields, setting up forms and campaign parameters, running crawls and exports, pulling data into report templates, and keeping tracking and integration records current. The Digital Strategy Coordinator also researches tools, plugins, and vendors for the Director to evaluate, and backstops the Manager's work with development.
Working under the Director of Digital Strategy, who sets strategy, architecture, and tool selection, and alongside the Manager, who directs the day-to-day work, this role takes direction on scope and approach, executes with care, and raises questions and anomalies early. Publishing to live environments happens with Director approval.
This role is the entry point into the Digital Strategy practice, with a defined path toward independent builds, report ownership, and workstream support as platform fluency and judgment develop.
This is a hybrid work from home/office position (in-office attendance is required on Tuesdays & Thursdays), and the candidate must live near Columbus, OH.
At The Shipyard, we know that it's your unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives that make you who you are, just like our team, who come from various career paths and experiences. We believe we can't be truly diverse without bringing your most authentic self to the agency.
Studies show that people from marginalized communities may not always apply for positions if they don't meet every single requirement in a job posting. At The Shipyard, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the requirements. We believe that your passion for what we stand for — our values and purpose — is just as important as meeting every checkbox.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Directed Builds & Configuration
Build and test tags, triggers, and variables in the tag management platform to Manager and Director specifications; publish only with Director approval
Carry out defined configuration and data-entry tasks in the client's content management system (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) platform: entering redirect maps, populating structured data and schema fields, setting up forms, and building campaign tracking parameters (UTMs) from the approved taxonomy
Verify what ships — tags, forms, redirects, consent behavior — against the spec on launches, migrations and rebuilds
Research & Documentation
Research platform, plugin and vendor options and document findings and trade-offs for the Director's selection and the Manager's implementation
Run crawls, exports and prompt sets for site, content and AI search audits and record results in the team's formats
Keep tracking specifications, tag inventories, and integration documents current as living records
Reporting & Data
Pull and assemble data from analytics and search platforms into recurring report templates; flag anomalies for review
Prepare charts, tables, and supporting slides for performance and campaign decks
Coordination
Track tickets, timelines, and open questions with developers, Media, Creative, and Earned teams on behalf of the strategy team
Prepare meeting notes, follow-ups, and status updates for internal and client check-ins
Individual Success Metrics
Accuracy & Quality
Builds, configurations, data pulls, and reports that pass review with minimal correction
Verification that catches tracking and page issues before launch
Turnaround
Consistent delivery against agreed timelines for builds, reports, research and documentation
Documentation & Research
Completeness and currency of tracking specs, tag inventories and integration records
Research the Director and Manager can make decisions from
Growth
Progress against a defined learning plan across the team's platforms and methods, and movement toward independent builds and report ownership
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
0-2 years of experience in digital marketing, analytics, web operations, or a related field
Curiosity about how websites, tracking, and marketing technology work, and excitement to learn new platforms quickly; we are technology agnostic and the digital landscape changes constantly
Comfort engaging with stakeholders at every level of technical comfort, from developers to client leadership
Clear written communication: turning findings, trade-offs, and meeting discussions into concise, useful documentation
Strong information retention: holding onto context and decisions across projects and bringing them forward when they come back around
Attention to detail and the discipline to follow written specifications, check your work against them before calling it done, ask when something is unclear, and take direction well
Organization to manage multiple tickets, deadlines, and open questions across teams at once, plus comfort in spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) for organizing and summarizing data
Any experience in digital marketing, analytics, or web operations is welcome, including internships, co-ops, and relevant coursework
