Senior Quality Engineer

Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen manufacturing quality, lead root cause investigations, and drive corrective actions across metal fabrication and electrical assembly operations. This role offers hands-on involvement in inspection, prototype builds, audits, and process improvement while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, inspection documentation, and records.

Inspect mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using standard and advanced measurement equipment.

Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing requirements.

Verify wiring, cable routing, crimps, subassemblies, hardware, and printed wiring board assemblies meet engineering requirements.

Evaluate fabricated components and plated or painted surfaces for conformance to specifications.

Ensure assembly, inspection, and testing activities follow approved procedures.

Lead root cause investigations and develop, implement, and verify corrective actions.

Monitor quality metrics, identify recurring issues, and drive improvements in product quality and manufacturing processes.

Support prototype builds and design reviews by identifying quality concerns and inspection requirements.

Conduct internal audits and product reviews to support AS9100 compliance.

Collaborate with coworkers, management, and vendors to resolve quality issues.

Develop and deliver quality training and support consistent application of company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

At least five years of quality engineering, quality assurance, quality control, or related experience in manufacturing.

Hands-on experience with AS9100 quality management systems.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications.

Knowledge of metrology, measurement equipment, and measurement system analysis (MSA).

Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action requests, and control plans.

Understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.

Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and collaborate across office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
