PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Mount Vernon Maintenance Leader is responsible for building a culture with an unconditional stance on safety and is accountable to deliver stable and reliable plant operations with a focus on, quality, productivity, customer focus and cost. This position will lead a maintenance team comprised of hourly employees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership, training, development and engagement of all Mount Vernon Plant maintenance employees. In addition, they must demonstrate a proven track record of leadership and sustained performance associated with plant maintenance programs and operations with proven experience reliability programs with operational metrics. Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, driving change and achieving results through employee engagement are required.

Reports to: Plant LeaderSpan of Control: 9 Maintenance Team MembersJOB RESPONSIBILITIESLive the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilitiesEnsuring a safe, clean environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is the first priority.

Meeting safety metrics – RIR, first aids, near misses, SAFE and Critical 6Lead Standard Work and Hazard IDEnsures a safe work environment through employee coaching and engagement and strict adherence to OC'ssafety policies and proceduresDirecting Maintenance OperationsProvide effective leadership and vision to all plant personnel and contractorsEngage employees and create a work environment in which employees become compelled to commit to their organization and its bottom line feeling of pride and job ownershipControl/Reduce Operating Cost.

Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies, streamline processes and leverage resources in order to reduce operating costsIdentify opportunities to enhance efficiencies, streamline processes and leverage resources in order to ensure operational efficiencyConduct Root Cause Failure Analysis on chronic maintenance issues or repairsEstablish a World Class Housekeeping and 5S EnvironmentExecute effective PM and work order programs using predictive and preventive technologiesPartner with the Mount Vernon Plant Maintenance team to drive the Site Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) journeyLead the PM pillar of TPM in the Mount Vernon PlantDevelop solutions that improve reliabilityRespond to unplanned downtime events with a sense of urgency with attention to safety and detailEnsure effective deployment of employee/labor relations practicesLead the RWP process for the Mount Vernon PlantResponsible for Alloy (GAT)Responsible for verifying all Mount Vernon primary employee Kronos TimecardsSchedule Compliance for Preventative Maintenance and RWP ComplianceDevelopment and Execution of Plant Maintenance StrategyDetermining critical outcomes for the Mount Vernon Plant Maintenance DepartmentPeople Strategy including talent developmentOperational Excellence through productivity and waste eliminationSustainability and Environmental Compliance / StewardshipJOB REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:A minimum of 1-3 years of industrial manufacturing/maintenance supervisory assignments and experienceA Bachelor's degree required.

Preferably in Engineering, Science, or Operations. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to make decisions based on facts and / or data including having the basic mathematics and technical skills to analyze data, interpret graphs, and combine related data.

Ability to lead nonunion hourly employees.

Ability to create and drive change and effectively communicate to all levels in the organization.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as effectively facilitate open two-way communication both within and outside of the organizationAbility to work both strategically and hands-on. Strong interpersonal skills. Must be highly organized and able to adapt to constantly changing demands and priorities.

Must be results-oriented with high level of self-direction, initiative and focus on customer satisfaction.

Able to work closely with the Production Department in a team-based environment that is designed to manage in a manner that will ensure continuously improving machine performance and employee efficiency.
