This VDC Specialist role offers the opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative team working on innovative projects across multiple market sectors, including data centers, higher education, healthcare, enterprise, and industrial facilities. Based at the headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, you will leverage your electrical background to support virtual design and construction efforts, helping deliver accurate, coordinated models and drawings that support successful project execution.
Responsibilities
Support virtual design and construction (VDC) coordination for electrical and MEP systems on projects in data centers, healthcare, industrial, higher education, and enterprise environments.
Review electrical design drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
Assist in the development and coordination of power distribution systems ranging from 120V/480V up to 15kV, including switchgear, panels, generators, UPS systems, raceways, and transformers.
Prepare or assist in preparing 2D layouts and installation drawings for construction job sites to support field installation and prefabrication activities.
Use modeling software such as Revit and Navisworks to create, update, and coordinate models for electrical and MEP systems.
Participate in model coordination and clash detection efforts to identify and resolve conflicts between electrical, mechanical, and other building systems.
Collaborate closely with project teams, including designers, engineers, and field electricians, to translate design intent into constructible models and drawings.
Review and interpret construction industry codes and standards to help ensure that designs and models comply with applicable regulations.
Support documentation, drawing updates, and model revisions throughout the project lifecycle to reflect design changes and field conditions.
Contribute to continuous improvement of VDC processes, tools, and standards by sharing field experience and practical insights.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience as a commercial electrician or electrical engineer is a plus
Hands-on experience with power distribution systems ranging from 120V/480V up to 15kV, including switchgear, panels, generators, UPS systems, raceways, and transformers.
Experience reviewing electrical design drawings, specifications, and equipment submittals.
Experience working in healthcare, data center, industrial, and/or higher education facilities.
Exposure to MEP design concepts and coordination.
Experience with fire alarm, telecommunication, security, EPMS, and BMS systems.
Experience preparing 2D layouts or installation drawings for construction job sites.
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other construction industry codes and standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Grandview Heights, OH.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $55.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
