Travel Nursing Job Details
Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Assignment End Date: February 1, 2027
Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
Setting: On-site operating room and perioperative care environment
Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, with a rotating day/evening schedule
Schedule: Variable combination of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour weekday shifts based on unit needs; full-time commitment
Call: As needed, including evening, overnight, and weekend call opportunities
Weekend Coverage: Required as scheduled
Unit Overview: Approximately 20 operating rooms with an average daily census of 45 patients
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of operating room registered nursing experience
Travel nursing experience required
Current Registered Nurse license in hand for Ohio or a valid compact nursing license
Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
Current BLS certification required
ACLS and CNOR certification preferred
Previous Epic electronic health record experience required
Strong circulating experience; scrub experience preferred
Experience with complex surgical procedures, oncology care, and/or robotic systems preferred
Ability to work a rotating day/evening schedule, call, and variable weekends
Two professional references required, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative experience.
Circulate and scrub for a broad range of surgical procedures as needed.
Support general, thoracic, neuro, ENT, orthopedic, plastics, urologic, gynecologic, and oncologic surgeries.
Assist with robotic, laparoscopic, free-flap, vascular, and complex cancer-related procedures.
Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation in accordance with surgical standards.
Maintain strict infection prevention, specimen handling, radiation safety, laser safety, and universal protocol practices.
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including emergency and code situations.
Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and a positive experience for patients and families.
