Role Summary

Buckeye Power Sales is seeking a Generator Technician to support its Power & Construction Equipment rental operation in the Columbus market. This position works primarily with mobile rental generators and temporary-power equipment, providing maintenance, troubleshooting, setup, teardown, and field support.

The ideal candidate has direct generator experience and is comfortable working independently in a fast-moving rental environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mobile rental generators.

Prepare generator equipment for customer rental and deployment.

Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, engine, and generator-control issues.

Support generator setup and teardown at customer locations.

Run and connect temporary-power cabling and related equipment.

Respond to equipment issues in the field.

Inspect returned rental generators and identify needed repairs.

Perform shop and field-service work as required.

Maintain accurate service documentation.

Keep rental equipment safe, reliable, and ready for deployment.

Follow company safety procedures and service standards.

Required Qualifications

Approximately 1+ year of generator or directly related power-generation experience.

Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.

Experience servicing engines, generators, electrical equipment, or comparable systems.

Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.

Strong initiative and problem-solving ability.

Willingness to work in a changing, on-demand service environment.

Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Generator rental or temporary-power experience.

Experience with United Rentals, Sunbelt Rentals, Herc Rentals, or similar organizations.

Diesel generator service experience.

Temporary-power cabling and distribution experience.

Generator controls, switchgear, transfer switch, or load-bank experience.

Experience with major generator manufacturers.
