Waitperson

Daulats Delights Pty Ltd, trading as Spicy Bite, Edge Hill, is seeking an experienced and reliable Waitperson to join its hospitality team in Edge Hill, Cairns.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing friendly, professional and efficient table service, taking customer orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining dining areas and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide friendly and professional table service.

Take customer orders accurately and communicate orders to the kitchen and service team.

Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.

Check customer satisfaction and respond appropriately to requests.

Provide customers with information about menu items and assist with selections where required.

Set up tables and dining areas before service.

Clear and clean tables and maintain a clean and organised dining area.

Process customer payments and operate the POS system where required.

Monitor dining areas and maintain high service standards.

Respond to customer enquiries and complaints professionally and refer matters to management when required.

Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

Assist other front-of-house and kitchen staff as required.

Work cooperatively with team members during busy service periods.

Maintain a professional appearance and courteous manner at all times.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

1–3 years of experience as a Waitperson or in a similar hospitality role.

Experience in customer service and table service.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to take and communicate orders accurately.

Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.

Strong teamwork and cooperation skills.

Good organisation and time-management skills.

Friendly, professional and customer-focused attitude.

Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements is highly regarded.

Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.

What We Offer

Full-time employment.

Salary of $55,000–$60,000 per year plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
