BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Software Developer to join our Web Medical/Claim Team. In this role, you will support the design, development, analysis, testing, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise business applications, including public-facing websites. You’ll collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into effective software solutions and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support software development initiatives using the Microsoft .NET Framework and related tools such as Visual Studio (C# and VB.NET) and Team Foundation Server.
Participate in requirements and design meetings; create and refine user stories in Azure DevOps to support analysis, design, and documentation activities.
Perform systems analysis, recommend application solutions, and assist with corrective programming during testing and implementation phases.
Write, read, and extract data from SQL Server databases and other compounded file sources to support development and reporting needs.
Collaborate with business users to identify, document, and clarify system requirements; translate business issues into technical problem statements and potential solutions.
Provide post production application support, including routine maintenance, enhancements, troubleshooting, and participation in production ticket rotation.
Attend issue resolution meetings, contributing to the identification of short and long term solutions and alternative approaches.
Support Agile development methodologies and participate in Agile ceremonies.
To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate:
Required Experience and/or Education:
48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
