Part-Time Floating Maintenance Technician – Property Management
American Classic Storage is seeking a dependable, hands-on Part-Time Floating Maintenance Technician to support our self-storage properties.
We own and operate 12 storage facilities throughout Hampton Roads and currently have an immediate need in the Williamsburg area. This position will initially focus on our two Williamsburg properties, with occasional opportunities to assist our Hampton and Newport News locations, typically about once per month.
This is a great position for someone who enjoys working independently, staying active, working outdoors, and taking pride in keeping properties clean, safe, and well maintained.
Tools and training are provided.
Responsibilities
As a Floating Maintenance Technician, you will work alongside and support our Property Managers with general property maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep. Responsibilities include:
Traveling between our Peninsula storage properties as needed
Cleaning and preparing vacant storage units using our Move-Out Checklist
Performing general indoor and outdoor property cleaning
Spending a significant portion of the workday outdoors
Performing basic roll-up door maintenance
Identifying weather seals, hasps, springs, and other door components that need repair or replacement
Performing janitorial and custodial duties as assigned
Identifying and reporting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other property maintenance concerns
Painting and completing minor property touch-ups
Cleaning gutters and assisting with exterior property upkeep
Assisting with pest-management tasks as directed
Occasionally meeting vendors or contractors at a property
Working independently from a daily maintenance and project list
Communicating with management by text and email, including taking and attaching photos of completed work or maintenance concerns

Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical tasks
Able to lift up to 50 pounds
Comfortable using basic hand tools
Able to communicate through email and text and send photos from a smartphone
Professional in appearance, demeanor, and conduct
Willing to learn and take direction
Requirements
Valid driver's license
Reliable transportation
Ability to travel between properties in the Williamsburg area
Ability to perform physical maintenance and cleaning duties

Schedule
Part-Time: Approximately 15–25 hours per week
Shift: Day shift, primarily Monday–Friday
Weekends: Some Saturdays as needed; closed Sundays
Compensation
$20.00–$22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Experience
2+ years of maintenance, property maintenance, facilities, construction, handyman, or related experience preferred.
