Experienced Fitter / Fabricator – Architectural Metal Fabrication

Action Architectural Fabricators, Inc. specializes in miscellaneous handrails, guardrails, and architectural metal fabrication. We are seeking an experienced Fitter / Fabricator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience fabricating steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze and be able to accurately interpret handrail blueprints, including drawings with slopes, and turn those drawings into quality finished products.

YOU MUST:

Have basic math skills

Know how to read and accurately use a tape measure

Be able to read and interpret handrail blueprints with slopes

Blueprint reading with slopes is a MUST for this position.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret detailed handrail blueprints, including drawings with slopes

Accurately understand dimensions, angles, elevations, measurements, and specifications

Measure and lay out materials accurately according to fabrication drawings

Fit, assemble, and fabricate metal components according to specifications

Fabricate and weld steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze

Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery, including ChopSaw and BeltCoper

Tack and weld components while maintaining proper alignment and dimensions

Conduct measurements throughout the fabrication process to ensure accuracy

Inspect completed work for proper fit, quality, dimensions, and appearance

Collaborate with team members to assemble structures and components according to specifications

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Maintain compliance with OSHA codes, standards, and company safety procedures

Qualifications

Previous professional experience as a Fitter, Fabricator, or Fitter / Welder

Strong blueprint reading skills required

Experience reading handrail blueprints with slopes required

Basic math skills required

Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure required

Strong understanding of measurements, dimensions, angles, and basic layout

Experience fitting and fabricating steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or bronze

Ability to measure, lay out, fit, and assemble components from detailed drawings

Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and quality

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

TIG stainless steel experience is a plus

TIG aluminum experience is a major plus

What We're Looking For

We need an experienced Fitter / Fabricator who can take a detailed handrail blueprint, understand the measurements and slopes, accurately lay out the work, fit and assemble the components, and produce quality finished products.

Candidates must be able to read handrail blueprints with slopes. This is a required qualification for the position.
