Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct patient care and oversee admissions, including completing history and physical exams, progress notes, transfer documentation, daily patient care, discharge planning, and participating in family meetings.Occasionally provide coverage for other Licensed Independent Providers (LIP) in the Community Living Center (CLC), which may involve admission assessments, daily care planning, chart evaluations, quality improvement initiatives, and educational activities.Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality comprehensive services while adhering to performance improvement standards relevant to Geriatrics and Extended Care Services.Engage in monitoring quality and performance metrics within the CLC to ensure compliance with federal regulations, VA directives, Joint Commission standards, and other VA policies.Participate in quality assurance initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety, performance, and care quality, while supporting research projects that may be implemented at the CLC.Collaborate with essential disciplines such as Rehabilitation, Nursing, Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Pharmacy, Chaplain Services, Infection Control, and both formal and informal leadership to establish employee training and in-service programs.Act as the physician representative on the CNH Review Committee, providing expert guidance and oversight, and assisting with follow-up visit plans.
The physician may conduct follow-up virtual or telephone visits as indicated by the patient's discharge plan or recommendations from the CNH Review Team.Ensure the confidentiality and privacy of patient medical information while maintaining accurate CPT coding.Adhere to EEO/Affirmative Action policies and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment guidelines for the facility.
Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increments.Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid leave annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for Continuing Medical Education).Retirement Benefits: Traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401K plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance (many federal insurance options can be continued into retirement).Licensure: One full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S.

Performance Pay: Up to $15,000 annually.
This role is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers reimbursement for student loan payments.
Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria as outlined by VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Approval of the program, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility periods (ranging from one to five years) will be determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after reviewing the EDRP application.
