Description

We are seeking a skilled Imaging Technologist to produce high-quality clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians. The successful candidate will perform routine diagnostic procedures while adhering to all safety standards and protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

Produce high-quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.

Implement proper radiation protection measures.

Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) to generate and complete exam orders.

Perform, record, and analyze quality control (QC) data to ensure accuracy and precision.

Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by conducting equipment checks, cleaning the work area, and monitoring temperatures in line with regulatory agencies and hospital policies.

Ensure regular attendance, including clocking in and out as scheduled and minimizing unplanned time off.

Maintain clinical competency and stay updated with current professional knowledge through in-house training and new equipment training.

Transport patients as required.

Demonstrate knowledge of PACS systems for releasing and transmitting images.

Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.

Recommend process improvements for greater efficiency.

Exhibit and promote company values.

Communicate departmental supply needs to ensure uninterrupted testing.

Collaborate with other departments to enhance patient and staff experiences.

Completion of a JRCERT-approved radiological training program or equivalent is required.

Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required (R.T. or C.T.) or a willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation.

Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice is required.

BLS certification is required. Physical Requirements and Working Environment

Average of 1 hour sitting per workday.

Frequent bending and stooping (20-30 times/day).
