Corning Community College is currently seeking a skilled Business Faculty to join our team in the Spring 2027 Semester. Tenure-track faculty members in the Business & Accounting Department are expected to teach a range of undergraduate courses, including Principles of Business, Principles of Management and Principles of Marketing. Faculty are responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and updating course materials, grading assignments and assessments, and holding office hours for each course taught to support student learning. Faculty are also expected to advise students on academic progress and career goals.Courses may be offered in-person, asynchronous online, or synchronous online, depending on departmental needs. Tenure-track faculty are expected to organize, maintain, and revise course content as needed to ensure instructional effectiveness and alignment with departmental and institutional standards.
Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required. Travel to local (within 60 miles) high schools may be required. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical classroom, laboratory, office, and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. Essential Functions
Teaching Duties (60%) -
Maintain current course content and up-to-date teaching methods
At the start of the semester, provide students with a course outline and requirements for fulfilling the objectives of the course. This should include information about grading policies, class attendance policy, research projects and/or term paper requirements, and the nature of quizzes and examinations
Be responsible for assuring accuracy of course content as defined in the catalogue
Meet classes as scheduled and dismiss each class promptly
Teach at off-campus locations, if need arises
Facilitate curriculum development
Develop community outreach activities
Utilize Microsoft Office and other relevant computer and software programs/skills to develop computer data base/system for program assessment, data collection, evaluation and potential accreditation
Engage in professional development activities offered through the Center for Teaching and Learning and other external opportunities
Collaborate with Workforce Development and other Academic Departments regarding noncredit and other professional training certifications and educationAdvising Duties (20%) -
Post and maintain regular and reasonable office hours
Refer students to appropriate college services for specialized assistance
Write recommendations for students who need references for work or for transfer to another college.
Serve as an advisor to a student organization
Coordinate and participate in advisement and recruitment for new and current studentsCommittee Services (15%) -
Attend graduation exercises, unless formally excused by the Associate Dean of Instruction and the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs
Become involved in, and contribute to, the improvement of the College and its community through such services as sponsorship of forums, seminars, workshops and conferences
Participate in all College-wide workshops and fall and spring start-up programs unless excused by the Interim Dean of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies Division or VP/Dean of Academic Affairs
Participate in governance committees as assignedOther duties as assigned (5%) -
Complete other duties as assigned by the Dean of the Liberal Arts and Professional Studies Division
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students, faculty, and staff
A strong working knowledge of Business
A strong technology proficiency, experience with Learning Management Systems, Banner, Brightspace, and textbook applications is preferred
Demonstrates commitment to accomplishing work in an ethical, efficient, and cost-effective manner
Ability to effectively convey information verbally and in writing, demonstrate effective listening skills, and display respect for and openness to other people’s ideas and thoughts

Minimum Qualifications
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Science (MS) in Business/Marketing or,
Bachelors in Business with a Masters in Education with significant relevant experience teaching general business courses at a credit bearing collegiate levelPreferred Qualifications:
Industry or relevant experience in the field and application of Business with specialization in General Business studies, Marketing and/or Management
