Collaborative-Wide Floating Paraprofessional

Provide paraprofessional coverage and student support across SCEC programs based on daily staffing and program needs as directed by the sub coordinator.

Travel between SCEC program locations as assigned and demonstrate flexibility regarding daily work location and responsibilities.

Provide classroom coverage and assist programs experiencing temporary staffing shortages or increased student-support needs.

Support students individually and in small groups under the direction of teachers, Teacher Leaders, and/or Program Administrators.

Implement student IEP accommodations, modifications, behavior support plans, and other individualized supports as directed by appropriate professional staff.

Assist students with academic, communication, social-emotional, behavioral, vocational, and/or daily living activities, depending upon the program and students being supported.

Maintain respectful relationships with students and use proactive strategies to support regulation, engagement, and successful participation in the school day.

Provide supervision and support during classroom instruction, transitions, arrival and dismissal, lunch, recess, community-based activities, vocational experiences, and other school activities as assigned.

Assist students with personal care, mobility, feeding, toileting, or other activities of daily living when required by the needs of the students in the assigned program.

Follow all student-specific health, safety, behavioral, and emergency protocols for the program in which the employee is working.

Collect and record student data as required.

Maintain student confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times.

Work collaboratively with teachers, clinicians, nurses, administrators, and other paraprofessionals.

Become familiar with the routines, expectations, and safety procedures of multiple SCEC programs and adapt quickly when moving between programs.

Perform other duties consistent with the paraprofessional role as assigned by the Program Administrator or SCEC administration.
