We believe the best products are built alongside the people who actually use them, which means spending time inside departments, understanding how investigators work, and turning those insights into better tools.\n We’re looking for an early-career Field Solutions Engineer who wants to do exactly that.\n Role Description This is not a traditional desk-based engineering position.\n You’ll spend much of your time working directly with police departments, sheriff’s offices, investigative units, and other law enforcement organizations across Ohio.

You’ll observe workflows, talk with investigators and department leadership, help professionals use the Nightwave platform, and identify opportunities to improve the product.\n You’ll act as a bridge between our users and our product and engineering teams.\n When departments are unavailable or you’re not in the field, you’ll work remotely or meet with your supervisor in Columbus to document findings, test product improvements, prepare for department visits, and help shape what we build next.\n What You'll Do\n\n Travel to police departments, sheriff’s offices, and other law enforcement organizations throughout Ohio\n Work alongside investigators and other law enforcement professionals to understand their day-to-day workflows\n Help departments learn, implement, and effectively use the Nightwave platform\n Identify friction points, unmet needs, and opportunities for new Nightwave features\n Translate feedback from law enforcement professionals into clear product recommendations\n Test new features and provide structured feedback to the engineering team\n Build strong relationships with department personnel and become a trusted point of contact\n Help troubleshoot platform issues and improve the overall user experience\n Track patterns across departments to help determine which product improvements would have the greatest impact\n Work remotely or meet with your supervisor in Columbus when not visiting departments\n\n Who We're Looking For\n This role is especially well suited for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants significant responsibility and exposure to both technology and business.\n You may be a strong fit if you:\n\n Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data science, criminology with a technical background, or a related field\n Are genuinely interested in technology, investigations, law enforcement, or public safety\n Are comfortable walking into a professional environment, meeting new people, and asking thoughtful questions\n Are highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to take ownership without needing constant instruction\n Think entrepreneurially and naturally look for ways to improve products, processes, and customer experiences\n Can communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users\n Enjoy learning how people actually work rather than making assumptions from behind a desk\n Are comfortable balancing technical problem-solving with relationship building\n Can take unstructured feedback and turn it into useful, actionable insights\n Are organized, dependable, and able to manage a changing field schedule\n\n Requirements\n\n Based in or within reasonable commuting distance of Columbus, Ohio\n Willing and able to travel regularly throughout Ohio\n Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation\n Comfortable working on-site inside law enforcement facilities\n Able to work independently while traveling between departments\n Available for occasional in-person meetings with their supervisor in Columbus\n\n What Makes This Role Different\n You won’t be several layers removed from the people using what we build.\n You’ll hear directly from investigators about what slows them down, watch how technology fits into real investigations, help them get more value from Nightwave, and bring what you learn directly back to the people building the platform.\n For someone early in their career who is entrepreneurial, technically curious, and comfortable working with people, this is an opportunity to have a meaningful amount of influence over both a product and a growing company.
