Georgia Recovery Campus values compassionate, professional care and a supportive therapeutic community.\n \n Role Description The Primary Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbus, GA, providing direct clinical services to adults in a dual diagnosis detox and residential setting.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, and facilitating individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

The Primary Therapist will provide ongoing case management, coordinate care with medical and psychiatric providers, and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.

Additional duties include maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, supporting discharge and aftercare planning, and engaging with clients in a trauma-informed, culturally responsive manner.

The role also involves contributing to program development, participating in staff trainings, and helping foster a safe, therapeutic milieu.\n \n Qualifications\n\n Demonstrated proficiency in Treatment Planning, including assessment, goal setting, intervention planning, and ongoing evaluation.\n Experience in Social Work or related counseling fields, with a strong commitment to person-centered, ethical, and culturally sensitive care.\n Knowledge of Chemical Dependency, including evidence-based interventions, stages of change, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation.\n Case Management skills, such as coordinating services, collaborating with community resources, and supporting discharge and aftercare planning.\n Clinical experience with Dual Diagnosis, integrating mental health and substance use treatment approaches.\n Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field (or in progress with appropriate supervision); relevant state licensure or license-eligible status preferred.\n Strong therapeutic communication skills, professional boundaries, and the ability to build rapport with diverse clients and families.\n Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, manage a clinical caseload, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.\n CPR/First Aid certification and crisis intervention training, or willingness to obtain upon hire.\n Previous experience in residential, detox, or substance use treatment settings is highly beneficial.\n
